I am a 38 year old, happily married, father of 3 beautiful girls: 2 toddler twins and one teenage step-daughter (who happens to be 13 going on 30, ya’ll pray for me). But seriously, I love being a dad and was fortunate enough to have my father in my life growing up as well. I got to witness first-hand what positive black fatherhood looks like. In fact, many of the things that I learned about being a parent, I picked up from my dad. Unfortunately though, most of the depictions of black fatherhood in our society are negative, which is insane b/c I know many great black dads. My purpose in creating this blog is to document my own journey, provide tips for navigating fatherhood, and hopefully help change the narrative of black fatherhood. Follow me on this journey and I hope to make you smile, laugh, cry, feel inspiration, joy, and remind you that we are all in this together, figuring out this whole parenthood stuff day by day.
